Data Sources and Methodology
VoteReady Midterms is built to send voters back to official election authorities. State pages include direct source links and visible review dates so visitors can verify details before taking action.
Verification Process
- Primary authority first: Vote.gov, the Federal Election Commission, FVAP, and state election authority pages are preferred over summaries from third-party publishers.
- Visible freshness: The launch dataset was refreshed April 23, 2026; individual facts now carry retrieved dates, source titles, status labels, and confidence levels.
- Status labels: Verified facts come from official published sources; variable items such as ID rules, early voting, and mail ballot return procedures are marked for source confirmation.
- Link QA: Government websites can block automated crawlers, so election authority links are also checked manually before production uploads.
- Correction pathway: Outdated or broken links can be reported through the editorial inbox on the About page.
